Why Vote NO! August 13 Statewide Constitutional Amendments

The constitutional amendments on the August 13 primary ballot put Wisconsin's share of federal funding and the distribution of emergency funds at risk. The League of Women Voters of Wisconsin (LWVWI) held this virtual program on Wednesday, July 10, 7-8:30 p.m., to explain why you should vote NO on both of these constitutional amendments. Learn what’s at stake. These constitutional amendments are confusing and harmful. LWVWI has a great panel of speakers who break down the two ballot questions and talk about the implications.

Please share this webinar widely. Voters have already received absentee ballots! It is critical that they understand what it will mean for Wisconsin if these amendments succeed.

LWVWI’s toolkit for advocacy against these amendments is available online.

We have two flyers on the topic. Guide to Constitutional Amendments addresses the questions in plain language in a neutral manner. Vote “No” on August 13, 2024 explains our recommendation for how to vote on these questions based on League positions. Please become familiar with these explanations and help spread the word, using whichever flyer is appropriate under the circumstances. Tabling volunteers must be neutral on the referenda when our event is held at a government venue such as the DMV or a location designated as an official registration site.
